Boise State Faces 3rd Top 30 Team of the Year

Hawai'i blew up and down the field against USC in the 2010 season opener. They once again bring one of the nation's best offenses and a #26 ranking into this afternoon's game.

#26 Hawai'i poses a stiff challenge to #3 Boise State this afternoon in Bronco Stadium. Coach Greg McMackin has his team playing solid with a recent string including victories over Fresno State and Nevada.

This will be the third Top 30 team that Boise State has faced this season. The Broncos downed #20 Virginia Tech 33-30 on the road and topped Oregon State 37-24. Boise State has to travel to current #23 Nevada in less than three weeks.

Quarterback Bryant Moniz has grown in confidence and decision-making ability and is ranked 14th in the country in passing efficiency. Moniz is ahead of quarterbacks Robert Griffin III of Baylor and Andy Dalton of TCU. Once again, the Rainbow Warriors feature a plethora of talented receivers aiming at making life difficult for the Bronco secondary.

Greg Salas has already hauled in 81 passes for 1,236 yards and 8 touchdowns this season and they have only played nine games. Kealoha Pilares has 64 receptions for 945 yards and 12 TD's this season. The talented duo ranks 2nd and 11th in the nation, respectively. The mind-blowing Hawai'i passing attack is #1 in the nation with 395 yards a game, which is 35 yards ahead of their closest competition.

This should be a thrilling contest to watch for college football fans as the two teams go for leadership in the Western Athletic Conference race. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2 beginning at 1:30 p.m. Mountain time.
