Boise State's Moore a Heisman Finalist

Boise State record-setting junior quarterback Kellen Moore has been named a finalist for the 2010 Heisman Trophy, ESPN announced moments ago. The popular Moore, who will lead his team against Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl, is up against Auburn's Cam Newton, Oregon's LaMichael James and Stanford's Andrew Luck.

Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore has been selected to be one of four finalists for the prestigious Heisman Trophy Award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate football player.

Moore will join Oregon running back LaMichael James, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck and Auburn quarterback Cam Newton in the running for this year's award. Voting concluded today for over 900 voters for the Heisman Trophy. Moore has a record of 37-2 as a starting quarterback for Boise State, leading his team to a Top 15 ranking each of his three years at the helm. Moore and Boise State were ranked as high as #3 earlier this year.

The Heisman winner will be announced live on ESPN from the Best Buy Theatre in Times Square this Saturday, December 11 at 6:50 p.m. Mountain time. The announcement will be attended by former Heisman Trophy winners, VIP's, sponsors and the media. The winner will be formally presented the trophy at the 76th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Dinner Monday, December 13 at the New York Marriott Marquis.

Moore ranks second in pass efficiency with a rating of 185.0, trailing Newton (188.16). Moore is third in passing percentage (71.01%), fourth in touchdown passes (33), fourth in interception ratio (1.45%), seventh in passing yards per game (292.17). Moore, just a junior, has already set school records this year in career passing yards (10,528), touchdown passes (97), completions (803) and 200-yards passing games (33). He set an NCAA record last year when he threw just three interceptions and recorded the lowest interception percentage in college football history
