Perennial power Utah State comes into Boise next Thursday night. Hawai'i used a 17-3 run to pull ahead 19-12 and never trailed from that point going into the locker room. However, Coach Rice's team clamped down, holding the Warriors without a field goal for nearly nine minutes and built a 24-point lead.
Boise State won on the Islands for the third time in 10 tries. La'Shard Anderson led the Broncos with 20 points on 7-12 shooting and a career-high five 3-pointers. Freshman forward Thomas Bropleh contributed career-highs of 14 points and eight rebounds and Daequon Montreal had 10 points and seven boards.
