Punahou School ATH KT Tuumalo (Honolulu, HI) committed to Boise State on Christmas Eve following a hard fought recruiting battle that included a handful of Pac-10 schools. The talented ATH got a visit from his future Head Coach on Friday afternoon as Chris Petersen discussed his coaching philosophy and what he looks for on the recruiting trail.

"Coach Petersen was here for about an hour and forty-five minutes," he said. "He made himself at home and I felt real comfortable with him. He talked a lot about the personality they look for in a player and what's a good fit for them," he added.

The in-home visit also presented Tuumalo's family with their first opportunity to interact with Coach Petersen. Needless to say, he made quite an impression on KT's family.

"They really enjoyed talking to Coach Petersen. They think he's a great guy and were real happy about him coming down," he said. "He came in and he wasn't up-tight at all. He's just a real cool guy and he embraced the style."

Jeremy Ioane signed with Boise State in the 2010 recruiting class out of Punahou and Tuumalo is looking forward to reuniting with him in Boise. The future Bronco believes having a friend already on the team will make the transition that much easier.

"Jeremy was real excited when I told him I committed," he stated. "It's cool that me and him are going to be able to play together again. It's great that I can go to the next level with one of my friends."

There was some speculation that Tuumalo (6'2, 210) would possibly take an official visit to Colorado later this month. He says he won't be taking that official visit and is 100% committed to Boise State.

"I won't be taking that visit," he said. "I'm 100% committed to Boise State," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on KT Tuumalo.
