Branham HS OL Adam Sheffield (San Jose, CA) narrowed his list down to three schools less than a month ago and decided to pull the trigger on the Boise State offer during a recent in-home visit with the Bronco coaching staff. What set Boise State apart from the other schools?

"There's something special up there," he said. "I felt most comfortable with Boise after looking at all my options and they were the top program out of the three schools. They have a great winning tradition and a lot of exposure," he added.

Head Coach Chris Petersen and OL Coach Chris Strausser were down in San Jose for an in-home visit with Sheffield on January 4th. The talented O-lineman decided to end his recruitment right then and there and become a Bronco.

"I committed to Coach Petersen and Coach Strausser when they came down," he stated. "I gave them my verbal then and it was nice to go ahead and get it out of the way. They were extremely excited about it too."

Sheffield took his official visit to Boise State back in November as he watched the Broncos dominate Fresno State from start to finish on The Blue. That performance combined with the "five star treatment" he received was one of the big factors in his decision to become a Bronco.

"For me, it was kind of cool since I was the only one up there," he said in reference to his official visit to Boise State. "I felt I got the whole five star treatment and it was cool to see the whole town and everything. My dad has a friend in Boise and has heard nothing but good things about the town."

The future Bronco is eager to sign his LOI and begin his career on The Blue.

"I'm excited and looking forward to Signing Day. It'll be one of the best days of my life," he said. "I never thought I'd be one of those guys. It's just a great feeling," he added.

Sheffield (6'5, 300) also held offers from Fresno State, San Jose State, and Wyoming.
