Eagle HS ATH Dillon Lukehart (Eagle, ID) committed to Boise State just a little over a week ago and was on campus this past weekend for his official visit. How did it go? He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about his official visit to Boise State and his future as a Bronco.

Eagle HS ATH Dillon Lukehart (Eagle, ID) committed to Boise State just a little over a week ago and was on campus this past weekend for his official visit. The future Bronco is quite familiar with the campus, but he enjoyed "taking it all in" and is happy with his decision.

"It was really cool. It was fun to take it all in and see everything," he said. "We got to meet all the coaches, see the facilities, and the campus. It was really a lot of fun," he added.

One of the highlights of the visit was a trip to Head Coach Chris Petersen's house for dinner.

"We got there right when it was getting dark, so I don't even know where it is," he said with a laugh. "He has a really nice house and his wife was there to greet us at the door. It was a great experience. We had catered BBQ, bunch of good food, and all the coaches were there too."

The "family atmosphere" is a big selling point on the recruiting trail for Boise State. The talented ATH got to witness that aspect up-close and personal.

"All the coaches get along so well," he stated. "They just seem like good friends. They're always laughing and having a good time. Nothing feels forced or awkward, it's just fun and relaxing."

Dillon's father, Dan, was a member of the 1980 National Championship team at Boise State. With that in mind, he says both his parents are proud of him for becoming a Bronco and carrying on that family tradition.

"My parents are really, really proud," he said. "It's great that my dad played at Boise State and now I'll be playing there too. They're both really proud of me and glad I'll be playing closer to home as well."

Lukehart (6'1, 200, 4.6) says there's a lot of pride when it comes to representing Boise and the State of Idaho as a Bronco.

"There's a lot of pride and it's really the best feeling knowing that those that watched me in HS will now be able to watch me in college," he said. "It makes me feel a lot closer to Dallas (Burroughs) and Corey (Bell) knowing that we're the three that are going there, and it's going to be cool to hangout with them," he added.
