It is the time of year for positioning for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, and each game is critical from here on out. The Bronco women are in a rebuilding year and trying to find their identity. They were destroyed by the Vandal women in Moscow so just remaining close would be an improvement.
Coach Leon Rice's Bronco men's team finally broke out of a four-game funk with a win over Fresno State Thursday night and can begin to build momentum for the WAC tournament with a victory tonight. The Broncos and Vandals tip-off at 9:05 p.m. in a game nationally televised by ESPNU.
Boise State is 13-11 with now an even 6-6 WAC mark. Idaho was a giant-killer this week knocking off #18 Utah State in a shocking upset in Moscow. Both teams are fighting for a spot in the upper half of the conference so to say this is a huge game is an understatement.
There's another story developing in the background aside from the importance of the game to the two teams. Bronco star senior Paul Noonan has shot his way to 986 career points and can become the 21st player in Boise State history to reach 1,000 with 14 points tonight.
The women's game begins at 6:00 p.m. tonight. Come out and enjoy the doubleheader!
