Hamilton HS ATH Malcolm Holland (Chandler, AZ) signed with Boise State on Tuesday and will be a part of the 2011 recruiting class. The talented ATH was in Boise last weekend for an official visit and enjoyed every minute of it.

"The visit went really well, it was amazing," he said. "I toured the school, the field, met with Coach Yates and Coach Pete, it was great," he added.

"My host was George Iloka," Holland said. "The thing that stood out to me about George is how he gets his work done before having fun. I went back to the house that he rents with a couple players and he had to finish up some homework before we could head out. That really sold it for me. He's a great person to look up to."

Malcolm received that coveted offer just before he left campus and says it was tough to keep his emotions "in check."

"I was super happy when they offered. I had to keep my emotions in check," he said. "I realized I'm going to be a leader for this team and I won't stop working until I have accomplished that goal. I'll have to learn everything as a freshman, but I will be a leader. They're all about integrity and motivation just like I am."

Holland says he considers it an "honor" to play for Head Coach Chris Petersen.

"It's an honor. I mean, Coach Pete is a guy that you'd do anything for," he stated. "He's a little more modest than Rex Ryan of the Jets, but his players have his back just the same way. The players want to be successful for him since he's so loyal and I think he's the best coach in the NCAA."

The future Bronco brought both of his parents along on the trip and they enjoyed it just as much as he did.

"They loved it and respect everything they do," he said. "They knew it was a perfect fit for me after talking with the coaches. The coaching staff is 100% truthful and my parents are all about that."

Holland (5'11, 165, 4.4) will arrive in Boise on June 27th for summer workouts. As a senior, he had 6 INTs and 75 tackles for the Hamilton defense.
