Grandview HS TE Evan Baylis (Aurora, CO) has five offers in-hand and a few unofficial visits already lined up. The talented TE will be in Boise for an unofficial visit on March 23rd.

"I'm going to visit on the 23rd of this month," he said. "They told me I'd be able to talk to some academic advisors, watch a spring practice, and get to know the coaching staff. I'll be bringing my dad along as well."

The TE position is arguably the centerpiece of the Bronco offense. That's a strong selling point on the recruiting trail when looking for that next great TE.

"I like their offense," he stated. "I've been talking to Coach Huff lately. I like the way they use their TEs in the offense with so many formations and shifts."

"Boise State was my first offer," Baylis said. "It was a bit of a surprise since it came on Signing Day, so I wasn't expecting it. Coach Petersen said they are real excited about me."

The Grandview Wolves finished the 2010 campaign with a 9-5 record. They started a bit slow, but improved as the season went along.

"We made it to the semifinals," he said. "The record wasn't what we thought it would be since we struggled early on, but making it to the semifinals was good. Personally, I thought I improved a lot as well."

Grandview returns a boatload of starters in 2011 and that means expectations are high.

"We definitely want to win state. We return a bunch of guys this year," he said. "I think we can definitely have a real good year. Personally, I was Honorable Mention All-State last year, so I definitely want to do that and see what else comes."

What does Baylis (6'6, 220) bring to the gridiron?

"I'm pretty fast for my size and I also have good technique for my blocking," he said. "I play really hard and intense," he added.

As a junior, Baylis had 22 receptions for 298 yards and 5 TDs.
