A.B. Miller HS LB Reshawn Hooker (Fontana, CA) has two offers in-hand and more could be on the way soon as schools up and down the West Coast are showing interest in the standout LB. Boise State became the first school to extend an offer to the talented LB just a little over a week ago and Arizona State followed suit just a couple days later.

"Coach Petersen offered me about a week ago," he said. "I had talked to them a few times, so I wasn't too surprised. He said he likes my grades, test scores, and he decided to offer me a scholarship after watching my film."

"I like how they attack," he said in regards to the Bronco defense. "They're real good on defense and are in a Bowl Game each year as well. They play some good football up there."

The offer from Boise State may not have come as a surprise, but the offer from Arizona State certainly did.

"Coach Bray from Arizona State offered me just a few days after Boise State," he stated. "That one definitely surprised me since that was the first time I had ever spoken to them. He thinks I can come in and compete right away since they're losing a few of their LBs after next year."

Hooker says Washington, Duke, Oregon, USC, and San Jose State are also showing some strong interest. Right now, he's in no hurry to make a decision and says he wants to take a look at all of his options.

"The perfect school for me is one with good weather, good football, and a place where I can succeed academically," said Hooker. "Right now, I think I just want to wait it out and take a look at my options. I'll probably take a few visits during my senior year."

The camp circuit will heat up in just a few months and Hooker is already making plans for a busy summer.

"There's a camp I'm going to next Sunday that's being put on by ESPN," he said. "I'm also going to the Nike Camp, USC, and I'm going to try to go to Boise State as well."

In 2010, the A.B. Miller Rebels finished the season with a 5-5 record. Their starting QB got injured early in the season, so that derailed their high expectations. Hooker says the 2011 team will be quite young, but very talented.

"Spring ball starts on Tuesday. I'm real excited," he said. "The team is kind of young this year, but the sophomore class is supposed to be real good. I'm hoping we'll be much better this season."

What does Hooker (6'2, 205, 4.57) bring to the gridiron?

"I'm a hard worker and I run up and down the field," he said. "I'm agile and I know where to find the ball," he added.

As a junior, Hooker had 105 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 4 sacks.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Reshawn Hooker.
