Coeur D'Alene HS RB Zach Keiser (Coeur D'Alene, ID) garnered First Team All-State honors as a senior and will enroll at Boise State in August as a preferred walk-on. He held a few offers from small schools in the area, but said his dream was to play Division One football at the highest level.

"I had offers from Western Montana, Carroll College, Eastern Oregon, and EWU was close too," he said. "Basically, I've been wanting to play at Boise State for the last four or five years. We didn't have too many contacts with them (at Coeur D'Alene HS) since they don't recruit North Idaho all that much. So, I just went to a lot of camps and stuff like that to get my name out there."

"Coach Choate and Coach Bhonapha recruited me," he said. "Coach Choate is real intense and Coach Bhonapha is the same way. I like that. They both really want you to excel as an athlete and can relate to their players."

"I'll be a preferred walk-on at RB and will redshirt my freshman year," said Keiser. "I'm real excited to go down there and be a part of the team. I'll be down there from June 12-22 for workouts and then permanently on July 31st."

The future Bronco says he's working hard and preparing to take his game to the next level.

"I've been working hard," he said. "Just going to the gym, running outside, doing a bunch of drills, and just getting ready. I feel like I'm getting a lot stronger."

As a senior, Keiser led Coeur D'Alene to a 5A State Championship and was also a First Team All-State selection. To say the talented RB "went out on top" would be an understatement.

"It was really overwhelming. I didn't know how to handle it at first," he said. "It was such a sweet feeling to go out on top. It's definitely something I'll look back on and tell my kids."

"You always have to give 100%," he said. "That's probably what I learned most over my HS career."

What does Keiser bring to the gridiron?

"I'd say I'm a powerful RB, really shifty," he said. "I have good acceleration and my lateral movement is really good," he added.

As a senior, Keiser (5'10, 205, 4.53) racked up 1,358 rushing yards and 24 TDs.
