Bellarmine Prep WR Michael Rector (Tacoma, WA) currently has two offers in-hand with a host of other top-notch schools showing some strong interest. Boise State just happens to be one of those schools that plans to evaluate the talented WR over spring practice and the months to come.

"I have offers from Washington and Air Force right now," he said. "Stanford, Oregon State, Boise State, Colorado, and some Ivy League schools have been showing interest too," he added.

"Coach Gregory is recruiting me from Boise State," he stated. "He's been up to my school twice over the past couple months. I last spoke to him about a month ago. I ran into him when he was at my school."

"I definitely like their program," he said in regards to Boise State. "They're a winning program with a great atmosphere. I like the blue turf and the fact that it's not too far from home as well."

Rector says he'll camp at a number of schools this summer and is hoping to add a few more offers to his list.

"Just trying to get my name out there," said Rector. "I'm going to the UW Camp, Nike Invitational Camp, thinking about Stanford, possibly Oregon State, and maybe Boise State too. They all want me to go, but it's kind of hard since they all seem to overlap."

What is Rector looking for in a school? According to him, it's all about academics.

"First, it'll always be academics for me. Academics have to come first," he said. "You have to have the smarts, but the football part is just a blessing. I'd say distance from home will also be a factor."

"I think that schools like the type of person I am," said Rector. "I'm not just a football player. I'm all about the academics too."

In 2010, the Lions finished the season with a strong record of 12-2. The talented WR says a State Championship is within their reach with so many starters returning in 2011.

"We're not losing that many people at all," he said. "We've got our QB, WRs, RB, and a bunch of others coming back. All the underclassmen are strong and hardworking, so I know we'll have some success. I think we can win a State Championship if we work hard enough."

What does Rector (6'0, 170) bring to the gridiron?

"I think I bring speed, good hands, and the ability to read defenses," he said. "I have the ability to get away from the secondary in man coverage and I'm always focused on reaching that next goal," he added.
