Leland HS ATH Christopher Santini (San Jose, CA) was in Boise for the Junior Day back in April and left campus with Boise State as his new leader. The talented ATH still has Boise State out in front and will visit both of the Oregon schools this month.

"Boise State is still my #1," he said. "As of now, the plan remains the same. I'm going to visit Oregon and Oregon State in about 2-3 weeks. I still plan to decide in August."

"I actually spoke to Coach Petersen just two days ago," he said. "He was just seeing how I was doing and where I stand with the other schools recruiting me. What I like about him is the fact that he cares about the actual player. He always wants to know my opinion on things."

"Boise State is definitely recruiting me the hardest," he stated. "They told me I fit their position perfectly since I'm fast, come up hard, and make a sure tackle. I have good awareness on the field and they like that."

The "family atmosphere" at Boise State has been a big recruiting tool over the past few years. Santini says the "togetherness" within the program is a big reason why they're his leader at this time.

"They give it everything they've got and they fight for each other," he said. "I like that family feeling and the fact that the coaching staff really cares about the players. I want to be a part of a team that fights like that."

Santini (6'1, 208) and his teammates at Leland will wrap up spring practice in about a week. He's making the transition to LB and says it was tough at first, but he's starting to get the hang of it.

"I had only practiced at LB two times before spring ball. I think I've done pretty well so far," said Santini. "I've been picking it up more and more as spring ball progresses. As for our team, we've already installed about 80% of our plays, so I think we're well ahead of where we were last year."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Christopher Santini.
