Central Catholic HS DE Alex Balducci (Portland, OR) currently has eight offers in-hand and one of those happens to be from Boise State. The talented DE visited the Boise State campus back in March and says he's "curious" about the Broncos' winning ways.

"I visited Boise State back in March," he said. "I've always been curious about them and wanted to see the campus and facilities for myself. They had just started recruiting me and they're a top ten program, so I felt the need to check it out."

"Coach Petersen offered me on the visit," he stated. "One thing he told me is that he likes me both as a player and as a person. We had a long discussion about Boise State, the recruiting process, and everything like that. He seems to always get the most out of his players and he cares about them as individuals as well."

"I just spoke to Coach Gregory earlier today," said Balducci. "We were just catching up on everything. They originally wanted me at O-line, but since have told me that I could play either. I liked hearing that since I'd rather play D-line in college."

Balducci says he'd like to commit sometime before his senior season and is simply looking for a program that "fits."

"I'm just looking for a good fit. I want to go to a school that can help me, but one I can help at the same time as well," he said. "I'm also looking for a good academics too. Most importantly, just an overall program that can help me reach my potential."

The Central Catholic Rams finished the 2010 season with an 8-3 record. That's a solid season on the surface, but Balducci says injuries were the only thing that separated them from an undefeated season. Meaning, it's "state or bust" in 2011.

"We had a lot of injuries last season. Obviously, there are some negatives and positives that go along with that," said Balducci. "We didn't reach our full potential last year, but it'll help us this year since so many younger guys got a lot of experience. We bring back eleven players that started at least one game on defense and most of our offense is back too."

"A State Championship is definitely our goal. I think an undefeated season is quite possible."

What does Balducci (6'4, 270, 4.85) bring to the gridiron?

"Schools like that I'm versatile and have the size to play either D-line or O-line," he said. "I'm big, fast, and can play a number of positions on either line," he added.

The talented DE currently has offers from Boise State, Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, California, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah.
