Summit HS CB Donte Deayon (Fontana, CA) was offered by Boise State a little over a month ago and will be in Boise this week for the annual football camp at Bronco Stadium. The talented CB said he would like to make his college decision in June, so is a commitment on the horizon?

"The camp starts on Wednesday, but I'm leaving Tuesday so I'll have time to checkout the campus and everything," he said. "This is my first time going up there so I'm looking forward to it," he added.

"Coach Yates and Coach Bhonapha are recruiting me," he stated. "They're easy to talk to and great coaches. I'm looking forward to seeing how they coach in person and getting out on the field."

"They want me at CB," he said. "Coach Yates has told me all about the tradition, so I'm eager to see everything for myself."

Deayon said he would verbally commit to Boise State on Tuesday if all goes well.

"The plan is for me to commit Tuesday and then go to the camp on Wednesday," he said. "I want to see the campus, meet the coaches, see how the city is, and just get a feel for the environment since that's where I'll be living. I've been talking about it with my mom and the coaches already know I'm close to committing, so they wanted to get me up there for a visit."

"A lot of schools have told me to come to camp and then they'll see about offering me," said Deayon. "USC, Colorado, Arizona State, and a few others all want to see me at camp, but that's what I like so much about Boise State. They knew I was a great player and offered me early instead of asking me to come to camp first."

In 2010, Deayon and his teammates at Summit HS finished the season with a 10-3-1 record. They lost in the CIF Championship Game, but the standout CB says they're reloading and coming back for more in 2011.

"We lost a lot of talent from last year's team, but we felt like we were the better team in that championship game," he said. "I'd say we're reloading this year. We have some good young talent coming up and I think we'll have a pretty good team. We'll have to see how this season goes."

What does Deayon (5'7, 157, 4.5) bring to the gridiron?

"I'd say I get to the ball and have good ball skills," he said. "I think I'm a great cover corner," he added.
