Mountain View HS LB Joel Skotte (Bend, OR) is one of the top prospects in the State of Oregon for the 2012 class and his seen his stock continue to rise over the past couple months. The talented LB has a solid top three and will continue to evaluate each of those schools over the coming months.

"I've still got the same three schools at the top of my list," he said. "Boise State, Oregon State, and Air Force are my top three. I might look at some other places, but those three will definitely get an official visit. We'll see if anyone else offers, but that's my top three."

"I spoke to Coach Gregory last week," he said. "I'm planning another trip over to Boise so my brother can see the campus, meet the coaching staff, and everything like that. Coach Gregory said he'd let us know when the best time would be for that."

"I was going to go to the Boise State camp, but I didn't get to since I pulled my groin at UCLA," he stated. "I'm just doing some physical therapy and it should be 100% by the end of June. I'm just taking it easy right now."

Skotte (6'2, 230) says one thing he's looking for is early playing time and two schools in his top three can offer that.

"Air Force and Boise State have the clearest pathway to early playing time," said Skotte. "I'm sure I'd redshirt at Oregon State and I don't really have a problem with that, but the depth chart is something I'm looking at. I'd like to play early and Coach Petersen told me they definitely need some LBs."

The standout LB says he'll make his college decision midway through his senior season or right after it. Right now, he's focusing on getting healthy and preparing for what could be a State Championship run in 2011.

"We're lifting hard," he said. "I think losing that last game made us realize that we could go all the way this year. I'm lifting and doing agilities four times a week. We're doing everything we need to win state."

The talented LB currently has offers from Boise State, Oregon State, Air Force, Washington State, Idaho, Portland State, and San Diego State.
