Steele Canyon HS ATH Chanceller James (Spring Valley, CA) currently has eight offers in-hand and a firm leader in place for his services. Boise State has led throughout his recruitment and a visit to Boise later this month could seal the deal.

"I'm going to Boise next Friday, the 19th," he said. "I'm real excited about it since they're my top school," he added.

"It's possible that I might commit to Boise if the visit goes well," he stated. "They're nationally ranked, have a great defense, small town, and you don't have to worry about the things that go along with a big city. The coaches seem like nice people and I want to watch a practice just to see how they coach."

The talented ATH says he would've committed to Boise State much earlier, but he has to get his mom on-board with the idea. Will he be able to do that?

"That's the plan," said James. "I just want to show her the city, the coaching staff, the dorms, the teachers, and just how I'll be living. We're going to talk to the other players and ask them about why they went to Boise State."

"They like me at Safety the most," he said. "I like Venable and Iloka's position. Both are great at what they do and I think that either would be a good fit for me."

An early decision would allow James to focus on his senior season.

"I'd like to get my college decision out of the way," said James. "Recruiting and talking to all of these coaches can be tough, so it would be nice to know exactly where I'm going."

James (6'3, 190, 4.6) and his teammates are currently smack-dab in the middle of two-a-days. With the season fast approaching, he says they're getting better each day.

"We started two Mondays ago since school starts on the 18th for us," he said. "I'm excited to get my senior season going and hopefully take my team to a championship," he added.

As a junior, he had 499 yards receiving and 5 TDs on offense. On defense, he had 100+ tackles.
