So, what are his thoughts on receiving his first offer? He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about all of that and more.

Santa Monica HS ATH Sebastian LaRue (Santa Monica, CA) is projected to be one of the top 2013 prospects in Southern California and he picked up his first offer last week as Boise State became the first school to put an offer on the table. So, what are his thoughts on receiving his first offer?

"It's really an exciting moment in my life and football career," he said. "Just knowing that you have a school follow you and like your football talent so much that they offer you a full-ride is just amazing," he added.

"Coach Yates offered me," he stated. "They've been lightly recruiting me over the past couple months since I transferred to Santa Monica, but it came as a bit of a surprise."

"I love Coach Yates and have since the first time I met him a while back," said LaRue. "His DBs play really well as a unit and they did a great job against Georgia. I love how the program produces top players like (Austin) Pettis and (Titus) Young. Their coaching staff is just that good."

LaRue is versatile in that he can play any position in the defensive secondary, but also at WR as well.

"I haven't spoken to them in-depth about the position too much," he said. "As far as I know, it's a secondary position...probably corner."

"Honestly, I don't really care what position I play in college," said LaRue. "I'll play the best position that will help the team win."

The talented ATH says he watched the Georgia game and was impressed with the defense from top to bottom.

"Their depth is amazing and it's not just the starters that are great," he said. "All of them can play and have the ability to be great. I thought their defense played very well. They attacked the ball all night."

What is LaRue looking for in a school?

"I'd say academics will be big. I want to take my degree and have it mean something," he said. "I'd say I'm looking for a nice campus life as well. For football, I'd say a coaching staff that can develop me and make me a better player."

LaRue began his HS career at Orange Lutheran, but will finish it up at Santa Monica.

"It was a bit of a travel going back and forth between Orange Lutheran and where I live," said LaRue. "I knew Santa Monica was a good school as well and they have a decent program. I felt I could come over here and help build it up."

"I believe we have a lot of talent this year," he said. "I think we can compete for state as long as we take it week-to-week and then make a great run in the playoffs. We're a very senior-heavy team and I'm one of the few juniors that plays a lot."

What does LaRue (5'11, 185) bring to the gridiron?

"As a player, I feel like I try to make plays and get the ball in my hands whether I'm on offense or defense," he said. "I'm looking to score as soon as I get the ball," he added.
