Dr. Phillips HS QB Nick Patti (Orlando, FL) will enroll at Boise State for the spring semester and the future Bronco received an in-home visit from Offensive Coordinator Brent Pease on Tuesday evening. The two talked about everything from the X's and O's to the move to the Big East for the 2012 season.

"It was awesome," he said. "He showed up at around 11 am at the school and we got to hangout for a bit, introduced him to some people, Tom Shaw, and showed him where I train. That evening, he came over at 6 pm, sat down, had dinner, and then talked a lot of football. We did a rundown on how they do things, the direction they're going, and stuff like that."

"We talked about his coaching philosophy," he stated. "The way they do stuff, the hurry up offense, how they game-plan, how they substitute, and stuff like that."

"I like Coach Pease a lot," said Patti. "I talk about Coach Pete a lot, but I like Coach Pease a lot too. When I talk to Coach Pete it's more philosophical and big picture stuff, but I talk a lot of 'ball with Coach Pease. I can tell that he loves the X's and O's. We talk a lot about how you do things here, there, and stuff like that."

The talented QB says Brent Pease is excited about the move to the Big East for the 2012 season.

"Coach Pease is psyched about the Big East," he said. "They're really excited for me too. Coach Pease was one of the first guys to call me that day and leave me a message, letting me know about the Big East. It's really exciting."

"No doubt, this is big," he said. "We're in the Big East now. That's an answer to all my prayers. It means a lot to me."

Patti will arrive in Boise on January 15th and enroll at Boise State for the spring semester. He says he's excited, training hard in the meantime, and will be ready to compete during spring practice.

"I will be on campus the 15th of January," he said. "No doubt, I'm very excited. There's nothing else for me to do other than train now that it's all set. It's an exciting time."

"Workouts are great," said Patti. "I go there after school and he's (Shaw) getting me ready to go there. He's just as excited as I am."

Looking back, Patti says the blue collar mentality within the program was one of the things he liked most about Boise State.

"They have that chip on their shoulder," he said. "I always felt I was underrated, the short guy, and many of them were told the same thing. I wanted to strap up with all of those guys that were underrated, wanted to do it with them, say we're here, and we're Boise State!"

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Nick Patti.
