When Will Dylan Cozens Commit?

Chaparral HS DE Dylan Cozens (Scottsdale, AZ) was a sleeper prospect with just an offer from Northern Arizona in early November, but that all changed once Boise State put an offer on the table. He has picked up eight more offers since that time & will take his final official visit this weekend, to Tucson. When will he commit? Is there a timetable? He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about that & more.

Chaparral HS DE Dylan Cozens (Scottsdale, AZ) was a sleeper prospect and held just an offer from Northern Arizona in early November, but that instantly changed when Boise State became the first FBS school to extend an offer to the talented D-lineman. He has picked up eight more offers since that time and will take his final official visit this weekend as he will head to Tucson to check-out Arizona.

"The Utah official was fun," he said. "It was about what I expected. I had fun and it was good to see the coaches."

"I'm going to Arizona this weekend," he stated. "I'll just be looking to build a better relationship with their coaches, see what Tucson is like, and see if I can picture myself there."

"For committing, I'm not sure right now," he said. "It just all depends for me. I might commit soon after my last official or I might wait until Signing Day. Like it said, it depends."

Head Coach Chris Petersen and Defensive Coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski will be down in Arizona next week for an in-home visit. The Bronco coaching staff continues to recruit Dylan hard and he says he's looking forward to that visit.

"They are coming either next Tuesday or Wednesday," said Cozens. "I speak to them a lot, just about every day. I spoke to Coach K a little earlier. He was just making sure I know how much they want me and we talked about the visit coming up. It'll be exciting having them here."

"I like Coach K. He's my type of guy," he said. "He says they know exactly what they want to do with me...most likely DE with a little standup LB. He has already been down here a few times, so it'll be good to see him again."

The coaching staff feels that his skill-set is similar to that of (former Bronco) Shea McClellin.

"Oh yeah," he said. "I think that's a good comparison," he added.

Cozens picked up his tenth offer just a few days ago as UCLA also put an offer on the table.

"The UCLA coaches actually came here and offered me," he said. "I was on a visit at the time. I've got my last official coming up so I won't be able to go there."

And the recruiting process? He says he feels "blessed."

"Oh, I love it," he said. "I feel blessed," he added.
