Marin Catholic HS QB Jared Goff (Kentfield, CA) is one of the top QB prospects in The Golden State for the 2013 class and has reeled in three offers within the last week. Boise State became the latest program to offer as Head Coach Chris Petersen extended an offer to the talented QB just a couple days ago.

"Coach Petersen offered me two days ago," he said. "It came as a little bit of a surprise since I hadn't spoken to them much at all before that, but my coach kept telling me that they were interested. Apparently, they saw my tape and decided to offer me based on that."

"Coach Petersen said he likes the way I step up in the pocket," he stated. "He said he thinks I'm a good player, a good kid, and that he'd like to offer me a scholarship to come play at Boise."

"That was the first time I've spoken to Coach Petersen," said Goff. "I like him a lot. He seems like a real nice guy, a great coach, and they've won a lot of games over the past few years. His product has been a lot of wins and bowl games."

California and Washington State also offered Goff within the last week and he says he considers himself wide open at this point in his recruitment.

"I'd say I'm pretty wide open at this point," he said. "I don't have a leader right now and I'm just taking my time," he added.

"I want to go to a good academic school, get a good degree, and compete for championships," he said. "I want to go to a school where I know I can compete and win."

The standout QB says the past week has been both "crazy" and "exciting" as he went from zero offers to three in just a matter of a week.

"It's really exciting," he said. "It's been my dream to play college football. To get one would be great, but to get three makes it just crazy and exciting all at once."

So, what does he like about each school?

California - "I like them since they're close to home and both my parents went there. I like Coach Tedford a lot too."

Washington State - "I like their spread attack since it's similar to what we run on offense. I like Coach Leach too. I think he's a great coach."

Boise State - "I like their tradition a lot. The blue turf is really cool and I know they have a lot of good fans up there."

Goff has visited the Cal campus a number of times, but says he also plans on taking a trip to Boise State and Washington State in the near future.

"I do plan on going up to Idaho to checkout Boise State and then Washington State too," said Goff. "I've got Stanford this weekend and then I'll probably camp at USC, Stanford, and Cal."

So, what does Jared Goff (6'4, 190) bring to the gridiron?

"Schools like that I go through my progressions, my footwork, and my accuracy," he said. "I'd say I'm a pocket passer, but I'm no slowpoke out there," he added.

As a junior, he threw for 3,120 yards and 45 TDs.
