Mead HS ATH Danny Mattingly (Spokane, WA) has picked up six offers in just the last month and Boise State became the latest school to extend an offer on Friday afternoon. The talented ATH is also planning to attend Boise State's Junior Day event along with a number of other schools.

"Coach Gregory offered me," he said. "I had spoken to them a few times, but not a whole lot. My coach sent me a text telling me to call him and that's when he offered. He (Coach Gregory) sounds like a real energetic guy. He's funny too."

"They like me as a LB/Stand-Up DE," he stated. "I think that's a good position for me. I consider myself more of a LB since I like playing in space, but I like rushing the QB a lot too."

"Honestly, I like everything about them," he said in regards to Boise State. "They're a great team and I feel there's a lot of opportunity for me at Boise State. I think their whole system would be a great fit for me."

Mattingly attended Washington State's Junior Day event just a week ago and is planning to attend a few more as well.

"It was good," said Mattingly. "I got to meet (Mike) Leach and their D-coordinator as well. Me and my dad probably spoke to them for a good thirty minutes or so while we were down there."

"I've got to make a trip over to UW. I've been meaning to do that," he said. "I was thinking about Oregon, but definitely Boise State. I'd really like to get down to UCLA as well."

Mattingly went on to say that he's still wide open at this point in his recruitment.

"Oh yeah," he said. "I'm still wide open right now," he added.

As a junior, he had 65 tackles and 10 sacks.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Danny Mattingly.
