Blue Ridge HS LB Chans Cox (Lakeside, AZ) is one of the top prospects in the State of Arizona for the 2013 class and has already reeled in a number of offers from across the country. Boise State extended an offer to the talented LB back in November, but will he make a stop in Boise this spring or summer for an unofficial visit?

"Right now, I've been to ASU and USC. I also went to Nebraska and Notre Dame in the fall," he said. "I'm going to try to visit a few more schools sometime this spring or summer. I'm going to try to visit Arkansas, Boise State, Oklahoma, and a few others."

"I definitely like all three (UA, BSU, OU) of those schools," he said. "Honestly, I'm interested in every school right now," he added.

"For Boise State, I know Coach Pete has been there for a while and has done great things with that program," said Cox. "Like me, I know he's a man of faith as well and instills discipline in his program. They also have a great winning tradition. Those are the things I'm looking for."

Cox (6'3, 225, 4.53) went on to say that he's looking for a family atmosphere and plans on graduating early.

"I'm just looking for that relationship between the coaches and the players," he stated. "Like I said, faith is something that means a lot to me and that's important. In my opinion, a successful programs will have those things and that discipline as well."

"Right now, I see myself taking all five of my official visits," he said. "I plan on graduating early, so I want to get out and see some of those schools this summer so I'll have a good idea of everything."

Cox saw his recruitment skyrocket within the last couple months and is now up to 13 offers. More than anything, he says the key is to stay humble.

"It really took off," he said. "For me, it's all about staying humble. One thing that really helps is my faith since that plays a huge role in my life. That helps me with this process. I think that's the main thing."

Spring football is in its early stages and Cox says this year's team should be a state title contender.

"Spring football has started, but we're just doing some passing stuff right now," he said. "We do that once a week and we'll hit it hard in May. I'm definitely ready for that since I think we'll have a good team. We had a lot of juniors last year. I see us as another state title team this year."

Effort, explosiveness, and speed - the three main attributes that Cox brings to the field each and every game.

"Schools like my explosiveness, my speed, and definitely my effort," he said. "They like that I'm always getting to the ball and never giving up on plays," he added.
