Paradise Valley HS QB Ryan Finley (Phoenix, AZ) picked up an offer from Boise State last week and verbally committed just a few days later bringing the current total to three for the 2013 class. The talented QB had been on Boise State's radar since last fall when he attended the home game against Air Force and described the Broncos' as the "perfect fit."

"They look for the right fit," he said. "They've had their eye on me since my sophomore year and they invited me to come to the game against Air Force. That was my first chance to meet the coaches and see the city."

"It was the perfect fit," he stated. "It was a relief to commit since I was confident in my decision. Why wait? I knew I wanted to go to Boise State and I also knew no other school would make me change my mind."

"The highlight of the day was sitting down with Coach Smith and talking football with him," said Finley. "He talked about what they expect of their QBs and I was comfortable taking pointers from him on what I should do to improve. I definitely saw that he's going to push me to be the best QB I can be throughout my career."

He went on to say that picking up that offer from Boise State "relieved a lot of pressure."

"It relieved a lot of pressure on me," he said. "Coach Petersen walked me through a slide-show about Boise, what they're all about, what they value, and what they look for in a recruit. They obviously look for a player with a good GPA and someone that will do the right thing on and off the field. I felt like that fit me well."

"I definitely witnessed the reason why his program is so successful," said Finley. "It's the things he stands for, how he's passionate about people doing the right thing, and he takes a lot of pride in recruiting the right guys. It's why they have no problems on or off the field. That's why they're so successful."

Northwestern, Arizona State, UCLA, Cal, and a number of others showed interest in the future Bronco. He believes he would have picked up a few more offers had he not committed early, but simply knew that Boise State was the right fit.

"I was going to visit Northwestern a few days before I committed," he said. "I also got invited to Cal and UCLA's Junior Day. I personally think ASU was close to offering."

"I'm 100% committed."

So, what does Ryan Finley (6'4, 185, 4.6) bring to the gridiron?

"I'm a good pocket passer, have good accuracy, and I can make plays on the run," he said. "I also have a passion for the game and I want to win in everything I do," he added.

As a junior, he had 2,908 yards passing and 25 TDs through the air. He also had 6 rushing TDs.
