Paradise Valley HS QB Ryan Finley (Phoenix, AZ) verbally committed to Boise State a little over a month ago and will be back in Boise this weekend for the Junior Day event. Being a QB, Finley says he's going to watch the QB competition closely and see what he can learn based on their performance.

"Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to getting back up there," he said. "I might miss some of the earlier stuff since the flight we got doesn't land until 3 pm," he added.

"I'm just excited to see the team out there on The Blue," he stated. "I'm going to watch the offense...see that in action. I want to see how the QBs carry themselves and see the coaches in action as well. I'm going to take in the whole atmosphere."

"I spoke to Coach Smith today through Facebook," said Finley. "I really like Coach Smith. I like how the QBs at Boise State are a family...a distinct part of the team. That's something I want to be a part of."

He also keeps in touch with Head Coach Chris Petersen.

"I spoke to Coach Petersen about three or four days ago," he said. "He told me he's excited to get me up there and for me to be their guy. He also had a chance to talk to my parents on the phone. My mom got really excited while talking to him and thinks it's a perfect fit for me. She said she can't wait to meet him this summer."

"I'm 100% committed."

With his commitment out of the way, the future Bronco has been hard at work preparing for spring practice. He and his teammates will hit the practice field at the end of this month and Finley says he's looking forward to it.

"Definitely looking forward to it," he said. "Spring ball starts on April 30th. The main thing I'm going to work on is my accuracy, be a little more consistent, and fine tune my steps and drops. From a team standpoint, I'm just ready to get back out there with my team and get to work."

And Finley (6'4, 185) says he'll be back in Boise this summer for the annual football camp at Bronco Stadium.

"Yeah, I'm going to the camp," he said. "I'm looking forward to that as well," he added.
