Paradise Valley HS OL Patrick Johnson (Phoenix, AZ) is still looking for that first offer, but a number of schools have been showing interest, including Boise State. The Bronco coaching staff will be sending a coach down to Paradise Valley to evaluate Johnson and take a look at (future Bronco) Ryan Finley as well during spring practice.

"Boise State has shown some interest," he said. "They'll be coming down to watch Ryan and me during spring ball," he added.

"I've heard a little bit from ASU and U of A as well," he stated. "For now, my coach has said he'll take care of me and the recruiting stuff."

"I just like their whole program," he said in regards to Boise State. "The field is cool, the games are fast paced, and one of our corners (Ebo Makinde) might start up there next year. I've had a few conversations with Ebo about Boise State and he said he really enjoys it up there."

It certainly helps when your best friend and signal caller is heading to Boise as well.

"It would be cool to play with Ryan. He's one of my best friends," said Johnson. "I'd describe Ryan as a hardworking kid and someone that will go out of their way to help you. He has a genuine relationship with all of us on the O-line and knows he can trust us."

So, Will Johnson camp at Boise State this summer?

"I might," he said. "I'm going to wait and see what they want me to do. I'll ask them if they want me to go to the camp when they come down for spring ball. I'll go to the camp if they think I should."

"My coach said it would be a good idea to go to ASU as well," he said. "I'll probably go to that one and there's another camp in New Mexico that my coach wants me to go to," he added.

Johnson, Finley, and their teammates will start spring practice next week and the talented O-lineman says he has plenty to work on as they prepare for the 2012 season.

"We start spring ball on Monday," he said. "I'm really looking forward to it. It gives me the chance to show everyone the hard work I've done during conditioning."

"You can always get better," he said. "I definitely want to work on my footwork, get better at that, and continue to give 100% through every drill."

So, what does Patrick Johnson (6'3, 275) bring to the gridiron?

"I bring intensity and buy-in to the whole team atmosphere," he said. "Everyone knows they can trust me, that I'll finish every play, and always give 100%," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Patrick Johnson.
