Wilsonville HS WR Tanner Shipley (Wilsonville, OR) currently holds offers from Oregon State and Wyoming, but is looking for more as he plans on camping at a number of schools this summer, including Boise State. The talented WR will be in Boise later this month for the camp and is hoping to earn an offer from the Broncos.

"I just got done with a camp at Oregon State on the 2nd," he said. "I have SPARQ and NFTC this weekend, a couple days at Boise State next week, PSU for one day, and then I go to BYU. It's a busy schedule, but I'm looking forward to it."

"I've spoken to Coach Smith a few times," he stated. "He likes my physical style of play and how I bring a RB mentality to the WR position. He said they're excited and looking forward to seeing me run some routes down there."

"The whole program at Boise State is about wanting what's best for you as a player and person," said Shipley. "All of the coaches are very personable, good people, and I can't say enough good things about them."

Shipley is LDS and has interest in BYU, but says they would not be a "lock" if they offered as he has interest in a number of other schools as well.

"I didn't grow up a BYU fan, but I have interest in them," he said. "Like Boise State, they have a very personable coaching staff and they strive to make you better as a person. It's a great school with an amazing campus."

"I'd say the main thing I'm looking for is just the lifestyle," he said. "I want to feel comfortable at the school and with the players. I want to make an impact, look for areas that I can make an impact, and show the nation that I'm not just a good HS player."

Shipley picked up that offer from Oregon State just a few days ago as Head Coach Mike Riley was impressed with his performance at the recent camp and decided to extend an offer.

"I just got the Oregon State offer," said Shipley. "I went to their camp on the 2nd and Mike Riley asked me to call him on Monday. I called him and he said they love what I do and want me to be a Beaver."

"It was an amazing feeling to get that offer," he said. "I know they're a program that supports solid football and they want their players to graduate with their degree," he added.

Shipley and his teammates are currently in week two of spring football and he says this year's team is looking to build on the 9-3 2011 campaign.

"We return some solid talent," he said. "Our core group of guys are solid. We have a small line, but they play fast and with a chip on their shoulder. We go out and work hard every day. We're just going to take it one game at a time this season."

So, what does Tanner Shipley (6'2, 185, 4.5) bring to the gridiron?

"Best thing I do is probably run solid routes," he said. "I'm able to get open, make room for the ball to get there, and then pick up lots of YAC," he added.
