Fruitland HS LB Joe Martarano (Fruitland, ID) became the earliest verbal commit in program history when he pledged to Boise State in June of 2011. The future Bronco was back in Boise on Friday for the annual football camp & he got some one-on-one time with LBs Coach Bob Gregory. So, how was it?

"It was good," he said. "Coach Gregory is a great LBs coach and it was great to work with him," he added.

"I was just there for the day," he stated. "Basically, I showed up, was placed on a renegade team, worked with Coach Gregory, and it was good since they worked with me a lot because I'm already committed. It was really cool to get coached by my future coaches."

"I got to speak with Coach Pete for a bit," said Martarano. "He said he can't wait to get me there and stuff like that."

Martarano says he believes that Head Coach Chris Petersen is the #1 coach in college football today, but he also likes how personable he is as well.

"I think he's the best coach in college football," he said. "Overall, I think he's a great guy and he really gets to know all of his players. You have to be an awesome guy for him to offer you both on and off the field."

"It was an enjoyable experience," he said. "Anytime I get to visit my future school it's awesome, but to get coached by them and get a feel for the future made it even better."

"I'm 100% committed."

Martarano (6'3, 230) will now look ahead to summer baseball and summer workouts for football.

"I've got legion ball, 7-on-7, and the area code games," he said. "It's going to be really busy," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Joey Martarano.
