Chino Hills HS WR Jack Austin (Chino Hills, CA) verbally committed to Boise State on Friday evening bringing the total to eight verbal commits for the 2013 class. The talented WR was one of the top prospects on the Bronco recruiting board and says he knew Boise State was the perfect fit following his second visit to The Blue.

"It was my second time in Boise and it made a great impression," he said. "I was planning to commit after the season, but I knew there was nothing stopping me from doing it now," he added.

"Boise State has done a great job recruiting," he stated. "I was able to talk to the academic advisor while I was up there and my mom especially appreciated all they had to offer academically. The academic side was probably the most important to me."

"I committed to Coach Bhonapha and then Coach Prince too," said Austin. "Coach Bhonapha said he wished I could see just how excited he was and Coach Prince was the same way. I could tell they were both happy."

Austin went on to say that he's excited to play for Head Coach Chris Petersen.

"I'm really excited to play for Coach Petersen," he said. "He's one of the most genuine people I've met. A lot of coaches out there aren't like that. I'm really excited to play for him."

"Coach Prince was able to help me improve my technique at the camp," he said. "He taught me how to get off the ball and run even better routes. That's something you want in a coach. I know I'll be able to learn a lot from him."

"I'm 100% committed."

The future Bronco says he will now be able to focus on his senior season.

"That's why I'm glad I committed early," he said. "I now have this off my back and I can focus on my senior season both athletically and academically. I want to be the best captain I can be for my team."

So, what does Jack Austin bring to the gridiron?

"The coaches praised me for running smooth routes," he said. "They thought I caught the ball well and was able to play through everything thrown at me," he added.

He chose Boise State over offers from Utah, Oregon State, San Diego State, and Utah State.
