Wilsonville HS WR Tanner Shipley (Wilsonville, OR) currently holds three offers, but has been hitting the camps throughout the Northwest in hopes of earning a few more. The talented WR was in Boise last week for the annual football camp and was told he'd know more about a possible offer once the coaching staff has finished their camp evaluations.

"I was in Boise for two days," he said. "We started out with some receiving drills and that was lots of fun. What I like about Coach Prince is that he focuses on the details. Also, Coach Smith originally recruited me and showed me the facilities while I was there. For Coach Petersen, I can't say enough about him. He's a class act and really cares about all of his players."

"I plan on giving them a call here soon," he stated. "I was told I'd know more after they have their meetings. I love their school and I'm hoping I can get an offer from them."

"Coach Petersen told me to keep working hard and doing what I'm doing," said Shipley. "You can tell that he's just a totally awesome guy and wants the best for his program and everyone."

Shipley went on to say that he feels he's "in the mix" at Boise State and could receive an offer.

"With Boise State, I feel I'm in the mix with some of their top receivers," he said. "I think it's probably a 50/50 thing right now. I think it'll be over the summer if I receive one, but I think they might want to see more of me this season too."

"Boise is a great town," he said. "Hayden Plinke is a good friend of mine and he told me his favorite thing about Boise State is the coaching staff. I'd have to agree with him on that. They have a great coaching staff that recruits good guys that want to work hard. I believe they had 57 players with over a 3.0 (GPA) last year. That's amazing."

Shipley also camped at Oregon and Portland State as well.

"I was at Oregon for one day," he said. "They pulled some of their top prospects aside and had us do some 1-on-1 drills and I felt those were a great test of my abilities. I really felt comfortable out there competing against the best."

"The PSU camp was good too," said Shipley. "Obviously, the talent level wasn't as high as Boise State or Oregon, but it's always good to go out there and compete. I love the coaches at PSU just like the other schools recruiting me."

And next on his list is a trip to Provo for the BYU camp.

"I'm going to BYU next," he said. "They're pretty heavily recruiting me right now. I talk to their coaches a lot and I'm excited to get down there and compete. I like the atmosphere of the school, the weather, the coaching staff, everything is great down there too."
