Elkton Christian Academy ATH Daikiel Shorts (Elkton, MD) was in Boise on Monday for a quick visit as he made the long trip from the East Coast to checkout the Bronco football program and all it has to offer. The talented ATH currently holds an offer from Boise State and a number of other schools, but where do the Broncos currently stand following that visit?

"I was only there for one day," he said. "We got there on Monday morning and then left a day later," he added.

"I met Coach Prince when I got there," he stated. "I shook hands with all the coaches, took a tour of the campus, facilities, and things like that."

"The Defensive Coordinator said I could play on defense too," said Shorts. "They first recruited me as a WR, but it's good to know that I could play on either side of the ball. I don't care too much where I play right now."

So, where does Boise State stand following his visit to The Blue?

"I haven't gotten a chance to sit down and talk about my top schools, but I know that I like Boise State a lot," he said. "They talked a lot about the new facilities, saw construction workers out there working on it, and I think that's going to be amazing. I think it's going to be really nice."

"I definitely liked Boise," said Shorts. "That's somewhere I could see myself living. I was thinking that it was going to be in the middle of nowhere, but it was really nice and laid back. It reminded me of Arizona."

The academic side was also a big selling point during Daikiel's visit to The Blue.

"I got to sit down with an academic counselor," he said. "They talked to me about the APR and how they had over 50 players with a 3.0 GPA. I really liked hearing that."

"I went to Boise with my mom. She liked it a lot too."

He went on to say that location won't be an issue and it's simply about finding the best fit.

"Location isn't an issue," he said. "I'm looking for a good fit. I look at the campus, the community, the coaching staff, the players, everything like that. I want to be somewhere that I feel at home."

"I'm not sure if I'll commit before or after my season," he said. "I know I won't be taking any other visits if I commit early, but I'm thinking that I'll take three official visits if I wait until after my season."

Daikiel says he and his teammates are heading to New York for a 7-on-7 tournament and that they expect to have a "strong" season in 2012.

"We'll be up in New York this weekend for 7-on-7," he said. "For the season, I think we're going to have a strong season since we have a great 2013 class," he added.
