Frontier HS QB Evan Moore (Bakersfield, CA) will likely be one of the top QB prospects on the West Coast for the 2014 class and will be in Boise over the next few days as he plans to checkout Boise State. The Broncos are an early favorite for Moore and the talented QB says he believes the Boise State offense is a "good fit" for what he can do on the field.

"It's going to be fun," he said. "I'm excited to go up there and checkout Bronco Country. I've always enjoyed watching them growing up and have always admired Coach Petersen as well. I'll be on campus for about a day or so, but I'll be in Idaho for a week."

"They've been recruiting me since about May," he stated. "They sent Coach Bhonapha down to one of my practices, told me to stay in contact, and asked me to come up and checkout the facilities."

"They run a nice pro-style offense," he said in regards to Boise State. "I feel that it would get me ready for the pros. My goal has always been to play in college, but my dream is to play in the NFL."

He went on to say that a number of other schools are showing early interest as well.

"Boise State, Nebraska, Arizona State, and Utah are the main four right now," he said. "I grew up a Nebraska fan since my dad is from there, but I've become a bit of a Boise State fan since they started winning a few years back. I really like watching their offense."

"I want to play for a coach that I can get along with," said Moore. "I want to play in an offense that fits my style and I want to feel right in the city too. I want to be somewhere that I'm comfortable."

Like most QB prospects, Moore says he'd like to commit sometime before his senior season.

"I'd like to commit by next summer. That's my goal," he said. "I just got to find the right school for me. If not by next summer, definitely before my senior season."

Last season, Moore and his teammates finished the year with a 6-5 record. They bring back a boatload of talent and expectations are rather high heading into the 2012 season.

"We're looking to win section and league," he said. "We ended up losing a bunch of games in the last couple minutes last year. We have a lot of talent coming back on both sides of the ball."

So, what does Evan Moore (6'1, 195) bring to the gridiron?

"I think my leadership is a big part of my game," he said. "I'm also good at reading coverage and I can use my legs as well," he added.

As a sophomore, he threw for about 2,400 yards and 28-30 TDs. He also had 700 yards rushing and 10 TDs.
