Helix HS WR Kendal Keys (La Mesa, CA) verbally committed to Boise State on Monday night following an official visit to The Blue just last weekend. The talented WR has been one of the top targets on the Bronco recruiting board throughout this season and the recent visit to Boise sealed the deal for the newest Bronco.

"Boise State has been my top school for a long time," he said. "I just needed to see everything for myself. I liked the town, it was beautiful, loved the snow, and I felt comfortable around the players and coaches. They have nice facilities, ranked high on academic performance, and I would say everything just appealed to me."

"I had a one-on-one with Coach Pete and Coach Prince," he stated. "With Coach Prince, I felt that connection right away. He's a great coach, very outgoing, and I could see all of that at practice. He'd run up and down the sideline on a score. I like seeing that in a coach."

"With Coach Pete, he was straight-up, very funny, and a cool guy all-around," said Keys. "I really felt a connection with him as well and the entire coaching staff for that matter. They're the type of people I want to be around and I'm excited to get up there and get my career started."

Keys (6'3, 195) planned on taking a few more official visits and says he even surprised himself a bit with the early commitment.

"I knew I was going to commit to Boise State," he said. "I was just a little surprised that I did right away. I knew I didn't need to waste anymore time. I'm not going to take visits just to take them when I know I'm not going to that particular school. I knew right away that I wanted to be a Bronco after the visit and I couldn't be more excited."

"I'm 100% committed."

The Bronco offense has developed a reputation over the past decade for being one of the most consistent and "high-flying" in the country. That didn't go unnoticed by Keys.

"I remember watching Titus Young and Austin Pettis," said Keys. "Originally, that made me want to go to Boise. They were explosive. They're trying to get back to that on offense. I'm not going to let them down. They know what I can do on offense. I'm going to go in there, work hard, and do what I do on the field."

"I'm working out like crazy," he said. "I'll be up there in June. I want to be as prepared as I can be to come in and compete right away. My goal is to get my speed up and keep working hard."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Kendal Keys?

"I make something out of nothing," he said. "I catch the balls that are uncatchable," he added.
