Chaparral HS TE Jake Roh (Scottsdale, AZ) took an official visit to The Blue last weekend and the Broncos appear to be one of three top contenders for Roh's services. The Bronco coaching staff is looking for a pass-catching TE in this year's class.

"The visit was great," he said. "Coach Pete talked to all of us about the program when we got there, how they run things, took a tour of the facilities, met some of the academic people, watched some film, and even went to Coach Pete's house for dinner. It was a lot of fun."

"Coach Huff showed me what the TEs do in their offense," he stated. "Right away I noticed that the TEs are a very important piece to their offense. He's a real cool dude and one thing I really noticed is how it's a real family environment with the TEs. I thought that was really cool to see."

"Coach Pete is a real genuine guy," said Roh. "He does things his way and that's why Boise State is so successful. It was nice to hear how he does things, why he does things a certain way, and things like that."

Current Boise State TE Gabe Linehan also told Roh that there's no better offense to play in if you're a TE.

"Gabe said there's no better offense to play in if you want to catch the ball," he said. "He really talked up Boise State and the offense," he added.

"They need a TE that can make plays," he said. "I think that's what they like about me. I can lineup at TE or split-out as a WR. That's what they're trying to get."

He went on to say that he's currently "leaning" towards three schools.

"I'm still keeping my options open," said Roh. "But I'd say I'm leaning towards Boise State, Iowa, and Duke. Those are the three I'm most focused on right now."

Is Roh on the verge of making a verbal commitment? He could possibly commit to a school as early as next week.

"I'm taking a visit to Duke this weekend," he said. "I think after that I'll sit down with my parents and discuss everything. I'm expecting to commit early next week. It'll be nice to get this out of the way. The recruiting process is fun, but it's difficult too."
