St. Louis School LB/DL Kamalei Correa (Honolulu, HI) verbally committed to Boise State back in November and received an in-home visit from his future Head Coach just a few days ago as Chris Petersen stopped by for an in-home visit with Correa's family. This visit took on an added importance as it offered Correa's mom her first opportunity to meet Coach Petersen. So, how was it?

"It was great," he said. "My official up there was more for me but this home visit was for my mom. It really allowed her to learn about them, who they are, and their plans for me."

"Coach Pete brought Coach Bhonapha with him," he stated. "It's funny since Coach Bhonapha actually played at UH with my brother. We see him as a bit of a family member since we've all known him for a while."

"Coach Pete really focused on the 'schooling' aspect," said Correa. "He went over my summer schedule, what I'll be doing, how I'll work with my tutors, and things like that. He also talked a little about football and the goals of the team and expectations. He came with a power point and went through it with my mom."

Like most in the 2013 class, Correa will enroll at Boise State in June and take part in the summer bridge program.

"I believe we start on June 24th," he said. "It's a 4-5 week program and I'll take two classes. I'll also be able to go through summer workouts with the team. I'm looking forward to it."

"Words can't explain how excited I am," he said. "I'm just ready to play football again," he added.

The future Bronco went on to say that the recruiting process can be fun in the early going, but it can drive you "crazy" as well if you allow it.

"It was a real weight lifted off my shoulders when I committed to Boise State," said Correa. "It can be fun but it can also drive you crazy too. You're comparing this school with that school. Every school will always have at least a few plusses. It's tough to compare them. I'm just glad that I feel very sure about my decision and I'm excited to get started."

"I'm 100% committed."

Signing Day takes on a festive atmosphere in Hawaii as recruits from across the Islands gather together at a hotel for a big signing party. Correa (6'3, 235) says he's ready to sign with Boise State and make it official.

"Like I said, words can't explain how excited I am," he said. "I'm so ready to be a Bronco," he added.
