Allen HS CB Cameron Hartsfield (Allen, TX) verbally committed to Nevada just a week ago, but an offer from Boise State early last week and an official visit to The Blue over the weekend made the talented CB decide to make the flip to the Broncos. So, what put Boise State over the top?

"The players and coaches made me feel like family right when I got there," he said. "I was welcomed with open arms. The campus was real nice, the facilities are phenomenal, and I really like Coach Lake too."

"They made contact with me before I committed to Nevada," he stated. "Coach Pete offered me after I committed, but my family and I thought it would be a good idea to go on a visit there. They've always been one of my top schools."

"Their defense is phenomenal," said Hartsfield. "They have an NFL-style defense and one that is very enthusiastic as well. They go full speed on every play."

Hartsfield had a one-on-one meeting with Head Coach Chris Petersen while on the visit, gave his dad a call right after that, and then decommitted from Nevada before giving a verbal commitment to Boise State.

"I had a meeting with Coach Pete," he said. "We talked about everything. He wanted my input on the school first and then football. He wants his players to have integrity on and off the field. I think he's a great life coach as well."

"I called my dad afterwards and told him I wanted to commit to Boise State," said Hartsfield. "It was just me and my mom on the visit, so I wanted to let him know before I committed. I called Nevada after that and they understood. I committed to Coach Pete after talking to them."

"I'm 100% committed."

A State Championship as a senior and now Hartsfield (5'10, 185, 4.35) is set to sign with Boise State. He says he feels blessed to have an opportunity like this.

"It's a blessing for me," he said. "I knew coming in as a freshman that I wanted to win a State Championship. It all started in the weight room and then we took it one game at a time. I was hoping that championship would give me a few more looks from schools and it did. Now I'm going to Boise State, a school that can help me get to that next level."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Cameron Hartsfield?

"I pride myself on being humble," he said. "They can expect to see a great player on and off the field," he added.
