Vista Murrieta HS LB Curtis Bolton (Murrieta, CA) currently holds three offers and could add a few more in the near future as a number of different schools continue to show interest, including Boise State. The talented LB has already taken a few unofficial visits and says he will be in Boise in early March for Bronco Junior Day.

"I'm going to their Junior Day," he said. "Oklahoma, Washington, and Washington State have already offered, but I'm thinking that Colorado and Boise State will offer soon," he added.

"Coach Bhonapha is recruiting me," he stated. "I know he's a great coach. Overall, I like how their team is put together up there."

"Their defense is perfect for what I play," he said in regards to Boise State. "They run a lot of 3-4 and they know how to win games. It seems like they have a great team every year."

A good coaching staff, a winning program, and a city environment is what Bolton is looking for in the recruiting process.

"First, it's the coaching staff," said Bolton. "I want to play for a coaching staff that will be there for my entire college career. That's important. Second, I want to play for a winning program. I want to go somewhere that I can compete for a championship. Third, it's the area and that's big too. I'm a city boy and I've got to go somewhere that I can see myself living for the next few years."

"I'm looking to see the area on my visit to Boise," he said. "I also want to see the impression I get from their coaching staff and how they see me fitting in with what they do. Overall, just the team chemistry as well."

Boise State is recruiting Bolton as a hybrid-LB and he says that position is the one he'd like to play at the college level.

"It's a great position," he said. "You get to get after the QB and then drop back into coverage. You really get the best of both playing that position."

"I'm focused on football right now," said Bolton. "I've played basketball in the past, but I wanted to dedicate myself this off-season to football and getting better. I hit the weight room 3-4 times a week and have 7-on-7 practice every Saturday and Sunday."

So, what does Curtis Bolton (6'1, 218, 4.7) bring to the gridiron?

"Schools like my versatility," he said. "There aren't many LBs out there that can rush off the edge and drop back into coverage the way I can," he added.
