La Habra HS DT Greg Gaines (La Habra, CA) currently holds an offer from Colorado, but says Boise State could also offer in the near future and he'll be in Boise later this spring for Junior Day. The talented DT appears to be one of the top D-line prospects on the Bronco recruiting board as a number of Boise State coaches have already been by the school.

"I think Boise State might offer soon," he said. "They seem really interested in me," he added.

"Coach Petersen, Coach Kwiatkowski, and Coach Avalos have already been by the school," he stated. "They seem like really nice people. I'm looking forward to going out there on April 13th."

"They're pretty good at football," he said in regards to Boise State. "They have a great program and are definitely on the rise. I also like their defense. They blitz a lot and always have good pass-rushers."

He went on to say that he'd like to checkout the campus and meet a few of the players while on his visit to Boise.

"I definitely want to checkout the campus and school," said Gaines. "I'd like to talk to some of the players as well and see what they like about Boise State."

"I want to go to a school in a nice area," he said. "The distance doesn't matter much to me, but I definitely want to be in a nice area. Also, I'd like to surround myself with good people and the football team is obviously big too. I want to play for a good team."

In 2012, Gaines and his teammates lost in the quarterfinals of the CIF playoffs. They return a loaded defense in 2013 and he says this year's team is definitely a CIF contender once again.

"Winning CIF is our plan every year," he said. "Last year's team was mostly juniors. We only lose three players from that defense. I think we'll be even better this year."

So, what does Greg Gaines (6'1, 291, 4.93) bring to the gridiron?

"I do really well against the run and the pass," he said. "I'm also pretty heavy as well so I can stick in there on the double-teams," he added.
