Central Catholic HS DE Connor Humphreys (Portland, OR) was in Boise last weekend for Junior Day and added Boise State to his offer list on Monday evening. Humphreys is one of the top prospects in the State of Oregon for the 2014 class and the Broncos will definitely be a strong contender for his services due to the many Bronco fans in his family.

"It was a fun trip," he said. "We had a great breakfast right when we got there, toured the campus right after that, saw the facilities, and met the coaches too," he added.

"I really like how you can walk everywhere on campus," he stated. "That's a big plus. I also thought the facilities were really nice too. They're building a new facility just for the football program. I'll have to come back and see it when that's finished."

"Boise is a place I could see myself living even beyond college," said Humphreys. "It has a really nice climate, close to the mountains, and everything around town is so close together. It was definitely a place I could see myself living."

He and his dad also sat down for a meeting with Head Coach Chris Petersen.

"I really like Coach Petersen's philosophy," he said. "They build character and men at Boise State. One thing he said that I really liked is how after four years in the program they not only become better football players but better men as well. Both me and my dad were impressed with the type of program he's running at Boise State."

"I thought Coach Strausser was a cool guy too," said Humphreys. "He talked a lot about how he recruits character more than talent and told me that he could see me playing O-line for them."

Connor is versatile in that he can play on either the D-line or the O-line. A number of schools are recruiting him as a D-lineman, but Boise State offered him on Monday as an O-lineman.

"Coach Strausser called me and offered on Monday," he said. "It was really cool to add them to the list since I have family members that are big Boise State fans. I've always liked them as well."

And he went on to say that he plans to take a few more unofficial visits this spring.

"I'm going down to Cal for their Junior Day," he said. "I'm also going to try to get down to Oregon and to Arizona State's spring game," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Connor Humphreys.
