East HS DE Korey Rush (Salt Lake City, UT) was in Boise just a little over two weeks ago for the Bronco Junior Day event and says he came away impressed with the program and the emphasis placed on academics by the coaching staff. Rush is versatile in that he can play on either side of the ball, but where does the Bronco coaching staff see him playing at?

"I really enjoyed the visit to Boise," he said. "I really like Coach Pete, his values, and how he wants guys with good academics," he added.

"They see me as a hybrid-DE/LB," he stated. "I think that would be a good position for me because I feel what I do best is get after the QB. To be able to rush the passer on every single play is something I would like to do."

"Their defense is really fast and they play with discipline," he said in regards to Boise State. "They get after the QB on every play and you can see from watching the film how hard they work."

Rush brought his mom along on the visit and says she was just as impressed as he was with the emphasis placed on academics.

"The emphasis on academics made her think even more highly of Boise State," said Rush. "I think that's a big reason why they're so successful. Their players know what is expected of them. The guys at Boise State want to be at Boise State and the best way to win championships is to have a group of guys that want to be there and work towards that goal."

"I could see myself playing for Boise State," he said. "I could see myself being around the people up there for the next 4-5 years. Coach Pete is someone I know I can trust. He doesn't just want you as a football player, but as a person as well."

Rush (6'2, 245, 4.79) says he's enjoying the recruiting process right now, but two schools in particular will be in the mix throughout his recruitment.

"Boise State and Arizona State will definitely be up there," he said. "I really like what I saw on both of those visits," he added.
