Serra HS QB Jalen Greene (Gardena, CA) picked up his first offer just a few days ago while on an unofficial visit to The Blue as Boise State became the first school to put an offer on the table. The talented QB is #1 on the Bronco recruiting board and led his team to a state championship just last season.

"I had a really good time on my visit to Boise," he said. "All of the coaches were there to meet me right when I got there, got that welcoming feeling, and could really see myself there," he added.

"Coach Smith is a real cool guy," he stated. "I got to watch some film with him and run through a couple schemes. He's real laid back."

"I got to watch them scrimmage," said Greene. "First, I noticed right away that they all know how to compete. Even the third string offense was getting after it and putting up points on the second string defense."

He went on to say that Head Coach Chris Petersen extended an offer to him before he left campus and told him that he's now #1 on their recruiting board at QB.

"To get that first offer was real big for me," he said. "Coach Petersen is a real cool person. He's not like other coaches because he recruits you more as a person and not just a football player. You know when they offer you that they really like you as a person."

"I could definitely see myself there," said Greene. "Coach Petersen told me that I'm the #1 guy on their board right now and didn't pressure me at all to commit. He said he wants me to take a few other visits so I know whether Boise State is the perfect fit for me or not. I really liked that."

As a junior, Greene and his teammates went 14-2 and won the state championship. This year's team returns a boatload of talent, but can Serra make it back-to-back?

"Most definitely," he said. "We've been working hard and know that the expectations for us are high going into this season. We had a small senior class last year, but they pushed us to get better. I expect our senior class this year to do the same thing."

So, what does Jalen Greene (6'3, 194, 4.5) bring to the gridiron?

"I'm always looking to throw first, but I can also extend a play with my speed," he said. "Coaches like how I look to throw first and don't just take off right away," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Jalen Greene.
