Serra HS QB Jalen Greene (Gardena, CA) became the second verbal commitment for Boise State's 2014 recruiting class just a few days ago as he decided to end his recruitment and pledge to the Broncos. The talented QB was in Boise for an unofficial visit just a week ago and says Boise State is the "perfect fit" for him.

"It's the perfect fit for me," he said. "I didn't see any school topping Boise and I'm thrilled to be a Bronco," he added.

"I knew Boise State was where I wanted to be," he stated. "I was thinking I might wait and commit during spring ball, but why wait? I knew I was going to commit to Boise State."

"I called Coach Smith and told him I was thinking about committing," said Greene. "We talked about it and I decided I wanted to go ahead and commit. I called Coach Pete after that and let him know I wanted to be a Bronco. Coach Pete was really excited."

The talented QB says he'd like to get back up to Boise for the spring game, but will definitely attend the camp this summer.

"I'd really like to get up there for the spring game," he said. "We're talking about that now. I know I'll definitely go to the camp in June. I'm looking forward to that. To have an opportunity to work with the coaches will be great. They've seen me throw, but it'll be great to get actual coaching from them."

"I'm 100% committed."

Serra has developed a winning tradition over the last two decades and the future Bronco says the two programs are similar in that "nothing less than greatness is expected."

"It's really similar since nothing less than greatness is expected," said Greene. "At Boise, you got to give 110% all the time or you won't be playing. It's the same thing here. It's all about getting better each day."

"I'm actually thinking about graduating early," he said. "I talked to the coaches about it and they gave me a list for my counselor. I might have to take a few classes at the community college, but I'm going to try to get up there for spring ball."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Jalen Greene?

"They'll be getting a hard-working guy," he said. "I give 110% on the field, in the classroom, and in the community," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Jalen Greene.
