Vista Murrieta HS LB Tyler Cook (Murrieta, CA) added yet another offer to his total on Saturday afternoon when Boise State became the latest school to extend an offer to the talented LB. Cook has been on the Boise State radar for the past couple years as he also camped in Boise just a year ago.

"They've been recruiting me since my sophomore year," he said. "I went to their camp last year, gained some more weight this past season, and got the offer on Saturday," he added.

"Coach Gregory offered me," he stated. "He told me that I'm the guy they want, have the character that they are looking for, and for me to come help them win a National Championship at Boise State."

"They've built a great program in a short period of time," he said in regards to Boise State. "They win a lot, have a bunch of high character guys, and I really enjoyed their camp last year as well."

Cook describes his time in Boise for the camp as a "great experience."

"It was a great experience," said Cook. "They have a really well-run program and you could see that at the camp. The coaching staff helped out a lot and I thought the campus was really nice too. It has that river running right through it. It gave it a country feeling."

Cook recently named a Top-3 of BYU, Hawaii, and Arizona, but also indicated that he isn't quite ready to pull the trigger yet, especially considering the events of the past week week that say him land 6 new offers, including schools from the SEC and ACC.

"I plan to visit the schools that have offered me. I'd say the things I'm looking for is a school that offers my major, playing time, loyalty with the coaching staff, and to be in an area that I could see myself living in for the next few years."

Cook is also LDS, but says he does not plan on serving a mission at this time.

"I'm LDS but I have no plans to take a mission."

Tyler and his teammates will be looking to win yet another CIF Championship this season, but the talented LB also expects to step-into a much bigger leadership role within the program.

"Our expectations are to always have a perfect season," he said. "We have a lot of talent coming back this year and had a lot last year too. The main thing we were missing was that team-atmosphere. You have to have that if you want to be successful. I feel we have that this year."

"I'll definitely take on a bigger leadership role this year," said Cook. "I'll be looking to help the younger guys and will continue to be one of those guys that leads by example."

So, what does Tyler Cook (6'3, 218, 4.51) bring to the gridiron?

"A lot of coaches love my motor," he said. "I have a passion for the game and I always give 100% effort," he added.
