Chaparral HS TE Jake Roh (Scottsdale, AZ) signed with Boise State as a member of the 2013 recruiting class in February and was back in Boise just a couple weeks ago for the annual spring game. The Bronco coaching staff expects Roh to come in and compete for playing time right away, and the talented TE knows he has to arrive in Boise in top physical condition.

"I've been training a lot," he said. "I was already training with a guy before I got the workout program and we were already doing a lot of the same stuff," he added.

"I lift 4-5 times a week," he stated. "I've been gaining weight, but doing it the right way so I can gain muscle too. I'm up to about 215 right now, feel a lot faster than I did during the season, and I'm trying to get up to about 225. It's a lot of speed-training too. You're building up those hamstrings, getting more explosive, and just working on everything."

"I was in Boise for the spring game," said Roh. "It was good to see some of the guys, hangout with them, and for us to all get along really well."

He went on to say that the coaching staff is looking to utilize his talents on offense since he creates mismatches at both the TE and WR position.

"They believe I'll be an asset at the TE position because I'm versatile," he said. "I'm excited to see what they can do with me and I know it's a good spot for me to be successful. That's why I chose Boise State. The coaches have told me that they're looking at playing me next year if they think I'm ready and I think I'm ready. It'll come down to camp, seeing where I'm at, and they know I'm more than willing to play if I'm ready."

"I spoke to Coach Huff while I was there," said Roh. "He talked to me and Alec (Dhaenens) a good bit. I love Coach Huff because he's so easy to be around. He's a funny dude and a great coach too. I'm really excited to play for him."

It appears that roommate assignments are already being handed out as well.

"Alec, me, Joey, and Ryan will be rooming together," he said. "I'm really looking forward to that since we get along so well. They're fun guys to be around."

And the summer bridge program? Just like the other future Broncos, Roh says he can't wait.

"I get there at the end of June," he said. "It's weird that it's already here, but I'm excited and pumped for it," he added.
