Cathedral Catholic HS LB Xavier Ulutu (San Diego, CA) picked up an offer from Boise State a couple months ago as the Broncos became the first school to put an offer on the table. The talented LB says Boise State and Washington State are his top two schools at this time and is looking to visit both schools in the near future.

"Boise State and Washington State are my top two schools," he said. "I'm going to try to take unofficial visits to both, but I know I'll take an official to each of them," he added.

"I like how Boise State was my first offer," he stated. "They recruit a lot of San Diego kids and I've heard nothing but good things about their system and program."

"Coach K is recruiting me," said Ulutu. "I like how he cares about his players. It's about more than football. He cares about academics and knows what he's talking about. I know he's a great coach too."

And Washington State?

"They're my first Pac-12 offer," he said. "I love Coach Wilson as well. I've had a lot of good conversations with him and have heard nothing but good things about their school as well."

He went on to say that the overall atmosphere at the school will be big for him.

"First, it's about the academics," he said. "I also want to be at a place where I'm comfortable. I'd like for it to be a family atmosphere."

Ulutu and his teammates are currently in the middle of spring practice.

"We started spring ball last week," he said. "It's going well. I'm definitely becoming even more of a leader. Growing up, coaches and teachers always told me I was a leader on and off the field. As a senior, I want to make this defense the best it can be."

So, what does Xavier Ulutu bring to the gridiron?

"Coaches have told me that they like my ability to read offenses," he said. "They also like how I hit and run downhill," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Xavier Ulutu.
