Dimitri Flowers Talks Boise State Commitment

Churchill HS ATH Dimitri Flowers (San Antonio, TX) became the fifth verbal commitment for Boise State's 2014 recruiting class last week when he decided to end his recruitment & pledge to the Broncos. He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about what was behind his decision to commit so quickly after getting the offer, and his future as a Bronco.

Churchill HS ATH Dimitri Flowers (San Antonio, TX) became the fifth verbal commitment for Boise State's 2014 recruiting class last week when he decided to end his recruitment and pledge to the Broncos. The talented ATH had just recently picked up an offer from Boise State and says the coaches were the main reason why he decided to commit.

"It was the coaches," he said. "That's why my dad thought it would be a good fit for me," he added.

"Coach Petersen said I would be a good fit for the program," he stated. "I committed to both he and Coach Huff. They were both really excited."

"They like my versatility," said Flowers. "They talked to me about playing HBack, TE, WR, and RB. Most colleges don't use an HBack and I like how Boise State does. The offense is also really explosive. They're a multiple offense and not just a spread team or pro team. I like that."

The future Bronco hasn't visited the campus yet, but says he will in the next couple weeks.

"I'm going up to visit Boise in the next couple weeks," he said. "For me, it starts with great coaches and that's why I'm committed, but I want to see the campus too. I know they have great academics and athletic facilities. I'm excited to get up there and see it for myself."

Flowers and his teammates finished spring practice just last week and says he believes the team will be much better this season.

"We finished spring ball last Thursday," said Flowers. "I think we'll have a much better team than last season. As for being a leader, I like it. I will do what I can to help this team win."

So, what does Dimitri Flowers (6'3, 225, 4.6) bring to the gridiron?

"The number one thing is versatility," he said. "I can play a bunch of different positions and we have packages for each game that include me at WR, RB, and other positions too," he added.

He chose Boise State over offers from Colorado, Nevada, Houston, and Texas State.
