Boise State All-Opponent Team: Tight Ends

Having decided on the quarterback, two running backs and two receivers on the All-Opponent Team, we now move on to the tight ends.

After discussion, these are the nominees for tight end:

Mike Barber, Louisiana Tech

College statistics are incomplete, but Barber had a great pro career, snaring 222 passes for 2,788 yards (12.6) and 17 touchdowns.

Orson Charles, Georgia

Caught 94 passes for 1,30 yards (14.6) and 10 TD's at Georgia--was a finalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation's top tight end, his senior season

Drafted in the 4th Round of the 2009 NFL Draft

Has caught 8 passes for 101 yards (12.6) in the NFL

Chris Cooley, Utah State

Caught 96 passes for 1,255 yards (13.1) and 11 touchdowns at USU--led the nation in 2003 in receptions by a tight end

Ed Dickson, Oregon

Grabbed 124 passes for 1,577 yards (12.6) and 12 touchdowns at Eugene--earned 2nd Team All-PAC 12 in 2008

Drafted in the 3rd Round--Has 86 receptions for 905 yards (10.5) and 6 touchdowns in e NFL

Gavin Escobar, San Diego State

Finished his college career with 122 catches for 1,646 yards (13.5) and 17 TD's--was ll Mountain West his last two seasons

Drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2013 NFL Draft

Virgil Green, Nevada,

Caught 71 passes for 911 yards (12.8) and 11 scores at Nevada.

Drafted in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft

Has caught eight passes for 87 yards so far in the NFL

Garrett Mills, Tulsa

Caught 201 passes for 2,389 yards (11.9) and 23 scores at Tulsa, including an NCAA record 1,235 receiving yards his senior year, which helped him earn All-America honors

Drafted in the 4th Round--Has 9 catches for 110 yards (12.2) in the NFL

Shawn Nelson, Southern Mississippi

Hauled in 157 passes for 2,054 yards (13.1) and 16 touchdowns in college--was a two-time All-Conference USA selection

Drafted in the th Round of the 2009 NFL Draft--Has 20 catches for 181 yards (9.1) and one TD in the NL

Bear Pascoe, Fresno State

Had 112 receptions for 1,294 yards (11.6) and 10 TD's in college

Drafted in the 6th Round--Has 26 catches for 252 yards (9.7) and 1 touchdown in the NFL

Derrick Pope, Georgia

Had 65 catches for 1,044 yards (16.1) and 10 touchdowns at Georgia

Drafted in the 3rd Round--Has snared 105 passes for 982 yards (9.4) and 11 TD's in he NFL
