St. John Bosco HS WR Shay Fields (Bellflower, CA) verbally committed to Boise State just a couple weeks ago and brings playmaking ability to the Bronco offense. The talented WR performed well at Bronco Camp and decided to end his recruitment shortly after as he pledged to Boise State.

"I thought it was a really good place when I went up there for the camp," he said. "It felt a lot like home to me," he added.

"I thought the camp was real good," he stated. "I went up there and showed them that I am capable of making plays and they also showed me a few things that I can work on. I enjoyed the camp."

"Coach Prince and Coach Lake recruited me," said Fields. "They're good guys and not like other coaches. They care more about their players. They're also real funny and fun to be around."

He went on to say that the Bronco offense is very similar to the offense that they run at St. John Bosco and should be an easy transition.

"I'm pretty excited to play in that offense," he said. "The offense is almost identical to ours with a lot of 4-wide sets, a strong running game, and scoring a lot of points. It's going to be a fun offense to play in."

"I'm 100% committed."

St. John Bosco has a strong program year-in and year-out and the future Bronco says their goal this year is to simply win a championship.

"We want to win a championship," said Fields. "We have summer practice right now and we're also doing some 7-on-7. Everyone is working real hard. I'm just trying to help the young receivers with their routes and show that leadership as a senior."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Shay Fields?

"I bring quickness and speed," he said. "I've also got good hands and I'm a playmaker," he added.
