Pearland HS OL Ryan Griswold (Pearland, TX) picked up an offer from Boise State a couple months ago and will visit The Blue later this month. The talented O-lineman says he's eager to see the campus and new facilities, but where does Boise State currently stand for him?

"I'd say Boise State is right there with Houston," he said. "I'm excited about going up there in a few weeks," he added.

"I'm going up there around July 20th," he stated. "I've heard it's a beautiful campus and I can't wait to see the blue field. I know they've also built a new football facility as well. I'm excited to see that too."

"Coach Avalos is recruiting me," said Griswold. "He's really nice and easy to talk to. He also has answered all of my questions about Boise State. I enjoy talking to him."

Griswold currently holds offers from Boise State, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Air Force. He says the Broncos are right at the top of his list because they're a "powerhouse."

"They're a powerhouse," he said. "I know they're ranked every year and have one of the best football programs in the country. Being a part of a program like that would be a lot of fun, but a big challenge as well. That's one thing I really like about Boise State."

"I'd say I'm looking at everything in a school," said Griswold. "The quality of education, the football program, and the city itself are all really important."

Pearland won a state championship a couple years ago, but finished with an 8-3 record in 2012 and lost in the first round of the state playoffs. Griswold says they expect to be much better this season.

"We have a lot of good players coming back," he said. "I think we'll be pretty good this year. It's a lot of motivation for us after losing in the first round. Our goal is to definitely get beyond that round and do well in the playoffs."

So, what does Ryan Griswold (6'5, 250) bring to the gridiron?

"Coaches like my size and footwork," he said. "I'm also a leader on the field," he added.
