Coeur d'Alene HS OL Matt James (Coeur d'Alene, ID) picked up an offer from Boise State last month and says he plans on making a verbal commitment within the next couple weeks. The talented O-lineman has visited Boise State, Washington, and Washington State with visits to Idaho and Arizona State coming up.

"I'm thinking I might commit within the next week or so," he said. "I'm going to sit down with my parents after the visits to Idaho and Arizona State and decide which school is best for me," he added.

"I went back down to Boise State a couple weeks ago," he stated. "This was more of a campus tour to see the academics and it went really well. I got to meet some people in the engineering department and I liked how it was right next to the stadium. They have good academics there and graduate their players. That's something I really like."

"I've gotten some handwritten letters from Boise State," said James. "My mom got one as well that thanked her for coming down to visit the campus. Basically, mine said that I'm an OKG, that I would fit in well at Boise State, and they would love to coach me. It gives me a great deal of pride to be considered an OKG by them since they only recruit a certain type of kid at Boise State."

He went on to say that Boise State's excellent APR score is something he really likes about the Bronco football program.

"I definitely like how they graduate their players," he said. "That's a huge thing for me and my parents. Academics are most important to me and playing for coaches that want their players to graduate is big. I wouldn't want to go there if they didn't have those good academics."

"It's going to be nice to have recruiting done and focus on my senior season," said James. "The recruiting process is a lot of fun, but I'm looking forward to deciding on where I'm going to go to school.":

James and his teammates are currently in the middle of summer workouts as they look to win yet another state championship this fall.

"We have morning workouts at 7:30," he said. "The team is looking good in 7-on-7, everyone is working hard, and we're ready to get back out there on the field," he added.
